How to make it

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

  2. 2

Gently unroll the thawed phyllo dough and cover it with a slightly damp cloth to prevent drying out. In a medium bowl, combine the fresh spinach, crumbled feta cheese, and the large egg. Mix everything together well.

  3. 3

Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface. Brush it lightly with olive oil. Layer another sheet on top and brush again with olive oil. Repeat this process until you have used four sheets, creating a stack. Place about one quarter of the spinach and feta mixture along one long edge of the stacked phyllo.

  4. 4

Carefully roll the phyllo tightly into a long cylinder. Then, gently coil the cylinder into a spiral shape, resembling a snail shell. Repeat this process three more times to create a total of four large swirls.

  5. 5

Place the swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious, flaky swirls!
