5Garlicky White Wine Mussels
Enjoy plump mussels steamed in a fragrant white wine and garlic broth, perfect for a cozy dinner.
How to make it
- 1
First, make sure your mussels are super clean. Give them a good scrub under cold running water and pull off any little beards. If any mussels are open, give them a gentle tap. If they do not close up, sadly, you need to toss them.
- 2
In a big, sturdy pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Toss in your thinly sliced garlic and let it cook for just about a minute until it smells amazing. Be careful not to let it get any color.
- 3
Now, pour in that lovely dry white wine. Let it come to a gentle simmer for a moment.
- 4
Carefully add all your cleaned mussels to the pot. Pop the lid on tight and let them steam for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep an eye on them, they are done when they all open up. Any mussels that stay shut, unfortunately, need to be discarded.

Stir in the fresh chopped parsley. Serve these beauties right away in deep bowls, making sure to spoon plenty of that wonderful broth over each serving. Crusty bread for dipping is highly recommended!
