5Warm Spiced Baked Apples
These warm, comforting baked apples are a delightful treat for any time of day.
How to make it
- 1
First things first, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grab your beautiful apples and carefully core them, leaving about half an inch at the bottom so they hold all that lovely filling. You can peel them if you like, but I usually leave the skin on for extra color and nutrients.
- 2
In a small bowl, combine the rolled oats, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and ground cinnamon. Stir it all together until everything is nicely mixed. It should smell wonderful already!
- 3
Now, spoon this delicious filling into the hollowed out centers of your apples. Don't be shy, pack it in there generously. Place your filled apples in a baking dish, adding a tiny splash of water to the bottom of the dish to prevent sticking and help them steam just a little.
- 4
Pop the dish into your preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork but still hold their shape. The cooking time might vary depending on the size and type of your apples.
- 5
Carefully remove the apples from the oven. Let them cool just a bit before serving. They are absolutely delightful warm, perhaps with a scoop of your favorite dairy free vanilla ice cream on the side, though they are perfect on their own!
